Memory Cafes

Tamworth Memory Cafe supported by Homeinstead Senior Care in partnership with the Heart of Tamworth Community project.
We are a domiciliary care agency who specializes in the care and support of people living with dementia; we work in the community with key support workers. When Karen Clancy from Tamworth Council invited us to be a part of the Tamworth Dementia Action Alliance and after talking to support professionals, regarding Social Prescribing, it was highlighted that Tamworth would benefit from a weekly memory cafe and we have now been running for 12 months. The Memory cafe offers a place where people can come together in a supporting friendly environment, with others that are in similar circumstances. By talking and finding out how others deal with things, people can better manage their own situations.
The cafe is also supported by the Alzheimer’s society and the Community mental health team who visit on a bi-monthly basis. There is a private room, if members who want to discuss more complex matters.
The cafe is supported by 2 trained caregivers and volunteers and we have a bi-monthly news letter which lists activities.
The Tamworth Memory Cafe is open every Tuesday 1030am-1230pm

Football at Hopwas Playing Field

The Parish Council installed a goal at Hopwas Playing Field and is pleased to see that it is popular and well used. However we request that if footballers kick a ball into the neighbouring properties please do not annoy the owners by going through the fence into their private property. This is trespassing and we have asked the local police to speak to anyone who is causing a problem as we wish to have friendly relationships with the neighbours.

Please take care of your ball, keep it in the field.

Thanks for your help!
